Dua for Evil Eye (Nazar)
Quranic verses and Masnoon prayers for protection against the evil eye.
Surah Al-Qalam (Verses 51-52)
وَإِنْ يَكَادُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَيُزْلِقُونَكَ بِأَبْصَارِهِمْ لَمَّا سَمِعُوا الذِّكْرَ وَيَقُولُونَ إِنَّهُ لَمَجْنُونٌ وَمَا هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِلْعَالَمِينَ
Wa in yakadul-lazeena kafaroo layuzliquunaka bi-absaarihim lammaa sami’uz-Zikra wa yaqooloona innahoo la-majnoon. Wa maa huwa illaa Zikrul-lil-‘aalameen.
Translation: And indeed, those who disbelieve would almost make you slip with their eyes when they hear the message, and they say, Indeed, he is mad. But it is not except a reminder to the worlds.
Dua for Protecting Children
أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّةِ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ وَهَامَّةٍ وَمِنْ كُلِّ عَيْنٍ لَامَّةٍ
A’oodhu bi-kalimaatil-laahit-taammati min kulli shaytaanin wa haammatin wa min kulli ‘aynin laammah.
Translation: I seek protection in the perfect words of Allah from every devil and every poisonous creature and from every evil eye that causes harm.
What is the Evil Eye in Islam?
The evil eye, known as Nazar in Urdu and Ayn in Arabic, is a real phenomenon recognized in Islamic teachings. It occurs when a person looks at something or someone with jealousy or intense admiration without mentioning the name of Allah.
